Imd day - planning de interviews!

Well today we worked on are sketch book brief and we worked through questions to ask are arty sketchers. The question were split up into 2 area;

Context - This is the way you
use your sketchpad e.g.
functionality and purpose.

Significance - This is what you feel
about your sketchpad e.g.
Opinion and meaing.

So the way i would us a notepad would be like... well lots of doodles. I remember lectures a bit better by the doodles i have on the the page. Nowadays i have drawn lecturer hitting a student in a funny and exaggerated way with the message from the lecture being said by them too.

If you are up for helping me.. if anyone is reading.. then have a look at this and get back to me :)

The kitten Nemesis

The most rescent threat that the kittens are facing is a terrorist mastermind and his forces. Stealing cat nip and kitty milk.

The leader has broadcast a message stating they claim responsibility for last nights attacks on the kings way retail park where a cat claw bomb exploded scratching several members of staff and unsuspecting customer, where a mouse is in critical condition at the local vets.

Anti-terrorism Kittens

This is the design solution for anti-terrorism, the anti-terrorist kitten will make the terrorist stop dead in his track and fall in love with it, rendering them usless (See the illustration below) . Simple but effective. they should patrol airports and important buildings.

The Soldier here is a member of the bomb squad in the anti-terrorist kittens. there being places in engine rooms and area without the public so the kittens can get those terrorists no matter where they go!

My First day back in IMD

We were introduced to are first brief today, where we look into sketchpads and apply the knowledge we find into making a touch screen interface.

This is a list of thoughts i would like to looking into:
  • The act of the sketchpad, sentimentality? Experiences you had?
  • The importance of picture and text, when are words needed and not needed when it comes to sketchpads
  • Leave of detail on pages, what people think and opinions. Are sketchpads a finished drawing or a way of getting something down?
  • The importance of colour, is it needed every page?
  • Relationship with paper?
  • Layout, where things are on the page, why they like that?
  • Paths and narrative, how the work flows on the page? Left to right? Up and down? Middle to edge?
  • Size of the pages, what is better; more to work with or making small enters
  • Time spent on an enter? More or less? Good entry bad entry?
This is for the other bit of the brief for the applying the idea of a sketchpad to a touch screen interface. So this sketch below is the idea that all your tools you could say are in each pen instead of being on the screen, example like you colours and thickness of pen. making it more like the experience of working on a bit of paper.
